Red sky

Ash Wednesday – 2009

I wonder if a red sky in the morning is good or bad. I’ve been worried
about todays concert at Lebanon state penn for days. (and not at all
for the reasons you might expect.)

I took out all of my gear and cables and counted and itemized them
again and again. I have to send in a list and it is pretty much
supposed to be exact – no mistakes. If you’ve ever helped me to pack
up you might see how that could be a daunting task!

I went there alone and very early – was outside (beautiful day for it)
laying out gear and cables for over an hour.

Finally got inside and my stress and worry evaporated! (Bet you
didn’t expect me to say that did you?)

Amazing concert – each time I come here I marvel that this place – and
these guys – are a highlight of my tour, year and life. Hard to
understand, even for me, how I feel about coming here. Offering what
is a story of an execution of an innocent man – to men locked up for a
huge part of their lives – no wind. No driving. No freedom. But
somehow they are free and have more understanding of the things that
really matter than most of us who are “free”.
