Sod house in the fields

Last night a guy named Rudy, wearing a cowboy hat, leather vest and jeans shook my hand and told me he enjoyed the concert. He asked me if I had ever seen a sod house, because he had built one just a few minutes off the road on which we would be traveling the next morning. The invitation was accepted.

This morning we had breakfast at the only diner in town. Alex, who is a regular customer there but not a local, said he enjoyed the concert. He paid for our breakfast without us knowing it. That was a very generous an moving gesture for which we are greateful :)

Then Matthew, I and the boys went to find a farm to which we were also invited for a ’round up’ of the cattle. We couldn’t find the farm, but we drove down a dirt road, got out of the van and walked in the grass.

On out way out of town we did stop to check out Rudy’s sod house. Quite amazing. The view from the front of the house was breathtaking!

I am thrilled that you received a tour of the sod house at Rudy’s farm. He is an original in our area and very much loved. Again, I wish to apologize for not receiving your phone call which would have brought you to the “round-up”. I kept looking up the road to see your vehicle, and my son had my cell phone in his pocket, since I had no pockets. What with all the cows and calves mooing – because we had to sort the cows from the calves – we simply could not hear the phone. I visited with many parishioners today as I returned to the office in Beulah, ND and all of the comments on your performance and your boys also, were filled with compliments to you and your family. Those that attended were very moved by your singing and by your words; especially those who have family that are non-Catholic. If you are ever in this area again, I guarantee that many of our parish family would drive for miles to listen to you. Thank you for the beautiful ministry you provide – you are a blessing to all who experience the passion of your concerts.
    Sincerely,
    Jalane
