Tajci began her professional career at the age of four singing at Croatia’s renowned Children’s Music Event “ZagrebFest” with the song “Mali graditelji.” She performed three consecutive years at the event which was broadcast annually on national television and featured the Zagreb Symphony Orchestra conducted by Croatia’s most respected conductors.
In 1975, Tajci began studying piano at the Zagreb Music Conservatory and making regular appearances on TV and radio, and at local and regional music events.
During the early years, Tajci collaborated often with the Croatian author Mladen Kusec and with Adela Dobric Jelaca, composer of children’s music.
Tajci also performed with Zagreb’s prestigious girls’ choir “Zvjezdice” under Zdravko Sljivac and learned stagecraft at the Zagreb Youth Theatre from great educators- the director Zvjezdana Ladika and composer Ladislav Tulac.
She had leading parts in many of Zagreb Youth Theatre’s musicals, including the famous “U koga se uvrglo ovo djete” (“Who is This Child After?”), alongside Croatia’s most successful actors (Rene Bitorajac, Mario Mirkovic, Mila Elegovic)
In 1985, Tajci was a part of the theatre tour at “World Festival of Youth and Students” held in Moscow.
