My Perfectly Beautiful Life Graphic

SYNOPSYS

“My Perfectly Beautiful Life” is a play with music about four women and their search for balance and self-discovery.

It explores the lives of four girlfriends whose lives and friendships change once they get married. Caught in their new responsibilities as wives and mothers, and led by self-imposed judgment, they lose their sense of identity, which then becomes a source of their unhappiness.

A series of small, seemingly insignificant events leads each of them to look deeper at themselves and their lives. With the girlfriends’ support and understanding, they find their way back to being the beautiful women they truly are and not the women they think they are “expected” to be.

The original music numbers written by Tajci are cleverly incorporated into the play. Three of the four characters play instruments on stage and at moments provide a soundtrack for each other.

“My Perfectly Beautiful Life” (formerly “Need A Break”) celebrates friendship, marriage and womanhood. There is no husband bashing as all of the women realize their problems lie not in men, but within
themselves.
